Age-group tennis
Christchurch was too strong for Hurunui in age-group tennis at the week-end, winning the under-17 grade 16-nil the under-15 14-2, and the under-13, 13-3.
The country players were far from disgraced, however. In the under-17 division, Alex McLeod went to three tiebreaker sets with a fine dis-
play of quality tennis. Cathenne Inkson was too strong for her opponent in the under-15 section, winning 6-4, 6-1. The Uren family, of Omihi, was outstanding in the under--13 age group. Stuart Uren and Melissa Uren both won their singles matches 9-2, and also carried off the mixed doubles, 6-3, 6-2.
