Young netball side shines

The Canterbury under 20 side emerged as a very strong team at the annual South Island netball tournament, held at Ashburton at the week-end.

Apart from a 50-21 loss to the second grade South Canterbury team, the under 20 side won all of its matches.

The coach, Brenda Rowberry, was pleased with the players’ performance. After beating the Otago under 20 team, 26-22, and the Southland under 20 team, 31-21, Mrs Rowberry hoped that the team would better its national ranking of second at the national competitions in New Plymouth next month. Results were:—
