Netball crown
NZPA special correspondent
New Zealand yesterday took the world netball crown from Australia beating its archrivals 39-37 at the World Games in London.
The Kiwis, fired by longtime mentor Lois Muir, and a large contingent of New Zea-
land and Jamaican supporters, led 19-17 at halftime and went on to snatch the gold medal in an exciting final.
Fourth seeds Jamaica won the bronze medal, beating third-seeded England 34-29, while Scotland finished fifth with a 32-17 win over Northern Ireland.
