Ballantyne suspended

PA Auckland Linda Ballantyne, the rider of Avadream in the Rockfield Stud Maiden at the Matamata meeting on Saturday, was suspended up to and including Friday for taking the line of Misty Mayo, Gentle Indian and Martin 200 m after the start. Martin had to be checked sharply. Wayne Hillis, the rider of Hex in the W. J. Tims Memorial Steeplechase, was suspended up to and including Friday for causing interference to Smokey Joe and Disneyworld. F. J. O’Styke, the trainer of Do So, an acceptor for the Bathroom Centre Handicap, was fined $35 for presenting the horse at the plating inspection with shoes in an unfit condition.
