PA Wellington The Budget debate may finish next week, said the Leader of the House, Mr Palmer, when the House sat at 9.30 a.m. yeaterday. However, that depended on how many members still wanted to speak in the debate and whether the Opposition intended to move an amendment, he said. Mr J. R. Sutton (Lab., Oamaru) presented the petition of the North Otago branch of the Nurses’ Association with 182 signatures asking that the State Services Conditions of Employment Act be repealed. The Acting Minister of Science and Technology, Mr Colman, tabled the annual report of the National Research Advisory Council for the year ended March 31, 1985. The Minister of Customs, Mrs Shields, tabled the annual report of the Customs Department for the year ended March 31, 1985. Two notices of motion, moved by the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, and the Leader of the Opposition, Mr McLay, concerning the Rainbow Warrior bombing, were passed immediately. Members presented 15 other notices of motion. The Minister of Labour, Mr Rodger, introduced the Higher Salaries and Allowances Bill. It was referred to the Labour and Education Select Committee. Ministers answered 17 questions. Parliament then resumed the interrupted Budget debate on the Appropriation Bill (No ■2j.The debate was interrupted when the House rose at 1 p.m.
