Pianist to tour

Terence Dennis, one of New Zealand’s internationally accomplished pianists, will perform throughout the country in June. In an 11 concert tour for the Music Federation extending from Whangarei to Balclutha, he will present a programme including music by Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy. Bom in Christchurch, Terence Dennis was

awarded a scholarship to study in Germany in 1977. While there he gained a reputation for his solo and accompanying skills on keyboard. In 1981 he returned to New Zealand to take up the position of Lecturer in Piano at Otago University.

Since then Terence Dennis has regularly appeared in concert with prominent local and

overseas artists, both in New Zealand and in Japan and the United States. Terence Dennis’s musical interest extends beyond the piano and includes composition. His song “Soirees Musicales” drew much critical acclaim in New Zealand and Germany, where it was first performed in 1979. On his tour he will perform in Akaroa on June 9 and Motueka on June 24.
