New theatre formed
Anyone yearning to act will be more than welcome at Wednesday evening rehearsals for the Pegasus Little Theatre. The theatre was formed at a meeting earlier this month to provide east Christchurch with its own dramatic group. The theatre has moved into the Freeville School
hall which has a stage. The chairman of the theatre committee, Margaret Sibly, said that the group was working on its first production. T. J. Nalder, a local playwright and director, was keen to direct and produce the Bertolt Brecht play, “The Good Town of Setzuan.” Mr Nalder has produced
several of Papanui High School’s productions. Rehearsals for the theatre will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday evenings beginning this evening. Anyone wishing to audition was welcome at the rehearsals, as was anyone wishing to work backstage. Margaret Sibly said anyone interested should ring 889-223.
