Allred, Maconie win squash
Michael Allred and Lisa Maconie won the under-19 boys’ and girls’ titles in the Canterbury junior squash chamionships at Rangiora on Sunday.
Allred beat the Timaru player, Christopher Kennedy, in a close four-game final, while Maconie, also of Timaru, was unbeaten in a round-robin. Results:— GIRLS Under 19 — Round-robin: L. Maconie (Timaru) 1, D. Hartland 2, D. Steele 3, J. Turner 4. Under 17 — Semi-finals: E. Sullivan (Invercargill) beat L. Graham, 9-6, 9-0, 9-2; T. Sullivan (Invercargill) beat H. Conagan, 9-0, 9-0, 9-3. Final: E. Sullivan beat T. Sullivan, 9-0, 9-2 9-4. Under 15.—P. Beams beat S. Rosevear, 9-0, 9-0, 9-2; J. Casbolt beat S. Blair (Bluff), 9-0, 90, 9-3.
