Wine export promotion
PA Auckland About 5150,000 will be spent in the next 18 months promoting wine exports to Australia, says Focus New Zealand. Mr Bruce Renshaw, general manager of Focus, said two-thirds of the budget would come from the wine industry, which was confident of doubling the value of its exports in Australia by July. Focus New Zealand, a trade-promotion body funded by the Trade and Industry Dpartment and the Export Institute, would also contribute 550,000, said Mr Renshaw.
The wine industry’s export drive, he said, was the first to be approved and supported by Focus. Mr Renshaw said a series of wine-tastings in liquor retail outlets was planned, particularly in Victoria and New South Wales. Restaurants would also be urged to feature New Zealand
