Unionism

Sir, — There is a right to vote for a Government, a right to join a trade union and the union members have a right to pursue their objec-

tive and to withdraw their labour. But no Government has the right to deny any person the right to withdraw from a union. If a union is losing members through dissatisfaction then the administration is wrong. Compulsory unionism helps to support bad management. The members I represent fully support the present law on unionism as proven by the 100 per cent membership of our section of the Local Body Officers’ Union. — Yours, etc. JOHN. G. HODGSON. August 28, 1984.
