Liberation of and from France
Sir,—Recently viewers of television saw a news item showing the people of Paris celebrating the fortieth anniversary of their liberation from Germans. One can appreciate the feelings of the French after several years of being under a foreign Government. The question I ask is, when will the residents in the French possessions also be able to celebrate their liberation? Morally, there is little difference between German occupation of France and French occupation of its overseas territories. — Yours etc., B. R. HANSEN. August 26, 1984.
