Sir Robert snubs teachers
PA Wellington The Leader of the Opposition, Sir Robert Muldoon, snubbed the Post-Primary Teachers’ Association conference in Wellington. Sir Robert got a rough reception when he spoke at last year’s meeting and told the association by letter he would not attend again. “I have told your president that your members will not get another chance to display their illmannered behaviour to me,” Sir Robert said in the letter, read to delegates. “I don’t wish to receive any further invitations to your conference,” he said. The Social Credit leader, Mr Beetham, accepted an invitation to speak in place of Sir Robert.
