The election
Sir,—With an election fought and won democratically by the Labour Party on the issues it espoused, is it too much to ask that the elected
members be allowed to carry out their policies as the Government; that the Opposition be just that, in opposition; that the voters keep an interest in their local M.P.; that never again we, the people, allow one man to hold the offices of Minister of Finance and Prime Minister; and finally, that we have a constitution written into law? — Yours, etc., PEGGY RIACH. July 18, 1984.
