French nuclear testing
Sir, — The Labour Government has proposed closing the South African Consulate. Does it propose similar action on the French Embassy because of French nuclear testing in the Pacific? Taking into account that there is a Socialist Government in power in France, the Labour Government would be seen by many New Zealanders to be inconsistent and biased. If similar action is not taken it would also prove that politics, not principles, are paramount. — Yours, etc., D. J. McCORMICK, Ashburton. July 18, 1984.
