Plans are still going ahead for the tender of Government stock due to be held on July 12, two days before the snap election.

A spokesman for the Reserve Bank said yesterday that, although there had been rumours the tender date may be altered, the bank was still proceeding

with preparations for a tender on July 12. In the last tender, held on July 8, the Government raised only one third of the $250 million it sought from big institutions. The low return was regarded as a reflection of tightness in the money market and the lingering success of an earlier tender in May, which raised almost S6OOM.
