PA Wellington The latest television licensing statistics show there are a total of 836,302 licensed colour television sets.. According to the Post Office television licensing statistics for April, 1984, the number of licensed black-and-white sets stands at 107,382, showing a continued trend to colour sets, 48,163 having been licensed since April, 1983. Black-and-white licensed set numbers have continued to fall with 27,821 fewer licensed compared with

April, 1983. Between March and April, 1984, the number of licensed colour sets increased 2598 while the number of licensed black-and-white sets decreased 2048. The number of licensed hired colour sets has increased 10,555 since April, 1983, while hired licensed black-and-white sets decreased 4025.
