Phillips trend
Phillips Industries Holdings, Ltd,the Australian electrical appliance manufacturer, said the improvement in business which began in the final months of 1983 had continued strongly to date and should result in a better result for the current year. However, the chairman’ Mr C. Bossers, said to sustain this economic upturn, increased consumer and government spending will need to be reinforced by private fixed capital investment. Phillips incurred a trading loss of sAust6.7M in the year to December 31, compared with a loss of $10.2M in the previous year.
