Teller system
Australia’s largest building societies have agreed to introduce a national electronic network for banking transactions through automatic teller machines and point of sale terminals, said the Australian Association of Permanent Building Societies (AAPBS) said. Customers will be able to access building society accounts at any one of the 230 or so ATMs installed at building societies throughout Australia. The AAPBS executive director, Mr Jim Larkey, said that building societies hoped to incri?ase the number of ATMs to by December.
