Strong Taranaki team
PA New Plymouth Taranaki has named a strong team for its rugby match against Queensland in New Plymouth today. With the return of the full-back, Kieran Crowley, and the front-row pair of Lyall and Warren Bunn, Taranaki will be keen to wipe the memory of its 1623 loss to Wanganui on Anzac Day. Queensland, too, is at full strength. Boosted by its 31-12 win over North Auckland at Whangarei on Sunday, Queensland is not expected to allow the soft Rugby Park ground to deter it
from a second win in its three-match tour. Teams:— Queensland: Greg Martin, Peter Grigg, Andrew Slack (captain), Brendon Moon, Tim Lane, Mike Lynagh, Tony Parker, Peter McLean, Jeff Miller, Bill Campbell, Nigel Holt, Chris Roche, Andy Mclntyre, Mark Mcßain, Mike Crank. Taranaki: Kieran Crowley, Bryce Robins, Malcolm Olsen, Murray Watts, Charlie McAlister, Brian Quin, Dave Loveridge (captain), Merv Dudley, Ray Wishnowsky or Trevor Hucker, Grant Major, Lindsay Thompson, Colin Cooper, Warren Bunn, Lyall Bunn, Ross Elmes. Referee: Brian Duffy, of Hawera.
