House shot in error?
The firing of a shotgun at a house and a car in Cashel Street early on Sunday morning might have arisen from a case of mistaken identity. Detective Sergeant B. M. Roswell said that the police believed the shooting was linked with events at a party held at a house next to the one shot at. Several shots were fired from the weapon at a house
just east of Fitzgerald Avenue about 2.30 a.m. The front door was damaged but no-one was hurt, he said. The back window of a car was also smashed by one of the blasts. The police would like to hear from anyone who might have seen a white car leaving the scene about the time of the incident.
