Rape charges
PA Auckland A Mount Eden youth appeared in the District Court at Auckland yesterday on charges of rape, attempted rape and burglary. He is Peter Tai Paul, aged 19, unemployed. Sergeant S. Cole said that the police sought a twoweek remand because there was a possibility of a large number of further charges being laid.
Judge J. H. Hall remanded Paul without plea, in custody, to February 16. Paul was charged with breaking and entering a Mount Eden house and raping the woman owner on October 17 last year, breaking and entering another Mount Eden house and attempting to rape the woman owner on Wednesday, and breaking out of a Sandringham Road house on the same day.
