Chief Stipe appointed
Mr H. C. Fryer, of Auckland, has been appointed Chief Stipendiary Steward by the executive of the New Zealand Trotting Conference at a meeting held in Christchurch yesterday. Mr Fryer has been the senior North Island stipendiary steward for some years after a term in Southland on his appointment to the staff of the conference. There has been no Chief Stipendiary Steward in trotting since the retirement of Mr L. A. Butterfield about four years ago.
