N.Z. man in boat rescue

NZPA Brisbane A New Zealander was one of three men dragged to safety after their pleasure cruiser was in collision with A Royal Australian Navy submarine in Whitsunday Passage off the coast of Queensland early on Saturday. a 10m cabin-cruiser Masquerade, valued at thousands of dollars, sank almost immediately after it was in collision with H.M.A.S. Oxley. Grant Mcßobbie, a New Zealander, Michael Mossoud, and the boat’s skipper, Peter Morgan, both of Noosa Heads, were dragged from the water by naval ratings. The accident, the second involving the Oxley and a private boat in the last 10 months, happened about 75km north-east of Mackay off Lindeman Island, just after 3.30 a.m. on Saturday. A naval board of inquiry has been ordered. The three survivors arrived in Townsville on Saturday evening a little shaken but free of any serious injury.
