Stabbing alleged
A man was in a satisfactory condition in Ashburton Hospital following surgery after allegedly being stabbed at Mount Somers. Ashburton police said inquiries were continuing, but the man suffered a penetrative wound high on the left chest, apparently in a domestic dispute. A person has been charged with assault.
