Weight will decide

NZPA Melbourne Grand National Hurdles winner, Zama Lad, may have jumped his last hurdle, according to his South Australian trainer, Tony Selfe. Selfe said that the seven-year-old’s future would depend on the weights received in future hurdling events. Zama Lad reached the pinnacle of his career with his fast finishing win from Junior’s Boy in the $51,000 Grand National Hurdles (4800 m at Flemington a fortnight ago. Today at Moonee Valley, Zama Lad will have his last start in his current campaign in the 2600 m Hallan Handicap, a flat race.
