Woman bashed

PA Auckland A woman was brutally bashed about the face with a blunt instrument and left unconscious in her Ponsonby home late last evening. The police said that the woman had had her face beaten to a pulp, possibly by someone using a hammer. The woman was in a serious condition in Auckland Hospital early today. The woman had probably been unconscious for some time before regaining consciousness. The police are not sure if she was robbed, but a ladder was found propped against a window of her house.
