Christmas party

As a welcome break from Christmas shopping, the Christchurch Arts Employment Scheme in association with other groups, will hold a free Christmas party on the banks of the Avon River on Friday from noon to 5 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by three bands; Bushfire (country music), the Untouchables (rock), and Malcolm McNeill and Friends

(jazz). Other entertainment will be provided by the Splits Dance Troupe, and the children's theatre group, “Penguins in my Socks.” The event is planned as a family outing, and people are encouraged to bring their lunch, and relax on the river bank between the Bridge of Remembrance and Hereford Street.
