PA Dunedin The Meat Board's 100,000tonne lamb deal with Iran has been confirmed, its deputy chairman. Mr N. D. Mcßae, announced in Balclutha yesterday. Mr Mcßae, who was speaking at the South Otago Agricultui al and Pastoral Society lamb cuts competition. said he was not in a
position go give any details about the contract. But he said the Meat Board expected a satisfactory year's trade with Iran and lie indicted that a further quantity of meat could be sold there later in the year. Mr Mcßae said the meat shipments would begin al-. most immediately, after the
remaining meat from last season had left New Zealand. The manager of Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating's works at Finegand. Mr T. W. Johnston, said this season had already got off to a good start and the confirmation of the Iranian deal should mean that the storage problems faced last season would be avoided.
