Taranaki wins rugby
A dropped goal by the first five-eighths, Brian Quin, in the last minute of play gave Taranaki a 13-11 win over Bay of Plenty in a noncompetition rugby match at Hawera yesterday. It was a welcome win by Taranaki after the 47-7 thrashing it got from Auckland in its previous match.
Taranakai led. 10-7, at halftime. Scorers.Taranaki: Bryce Robins. Kieran Crowley tries, Crowley a conversion, Brian Quinn a dropped goal. Bay of Plenty: Ron Preston. Casey Wanoa tries, Preston a penalty.
