Central American killings
Sir,—lf E. M. Coster chooses to misinterpret my letter (February 26). I can only suggest that Cristina Guerrero’s original letter (and my answer) be re-read. This letter made a comparison between the fact that there has been a petition about dogs in the Philippines but “not one word” for the men, women and children of Central America. Taking this on its face value, I could, like many other readers, only assume that nothing had been done for these people, however, the correspondent- in
her second letter revealed further details regarding the efforts of the Latino American Group, Christchurch, including petitions previously sent to Mr Muldoon and Mf Reagan. It must be realised that many other hard efforts for equally urgent and deserving causes have also gone unheeded while the evils continue or worsen, but one must keep on and try every door, at the same time showing charity and tolerance towards other issues.—Yours, etc., ESTELLE WIN. March 5, 1982.
