Games rifle nominees
PA Wellington John ' Hastie (Hastings) and John Whiteman (Upper Hutt) have been nominated tb represent New Zealand at rifle shooting at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. The second trial for a dozen of the country's top riflemen was held at Trentham over the weekend. The first was held immediately after the national championships on the same range in January.
Hastie. a rural transport
Hastie. a rural transport operator who shoots, for the Okawa club, won this year's Ballinger belt and represented New Zealand at the last Com- ■ monwealth Games in Edmonton. He had a successful two trials aggregating 620 out of a possible 655: Whiteman, manager of a sports goods store, shoots for the Upper Hutt club and was runnerup to Hastie in this year's national championships.
