Milers duel continues

NZPA staff correspondent Washington The American Steve Scott made it tw’o-to-one over John Walker on Friday evening when he won the Wanamaker mile at Madison Square Garden in New York in 3min 55.375. Tom Byers. another American, was second in

3:55.41, and Walker came in third with 3:55.62. Scott beat Walker in Auckland in the international track series, but Walker came in second to Doug Madulla in the mile at Inglewood, California, last Friday, when Scott only placed fourth. The duel will continue with another indoor meeting due soon in California.
