Nurses action to halt

Sunnyside and Templeton nurses will consider a recommendation on Friday that they suspend their industrial action which they began last week.

The recommendation has come from the Public Service Association after the Hospitals’ Inter-board Liaison Group told the P.S.A. that it was prepared to discuss the issue of staff levels only if the widespread indus-

trial action stopped. The meeting between the group and the P.S.A. will be held on February 11 if the nurses at psychiatric hospitals suspend their action.

But if the meeting on February 11 does not make sufficient progress, the nurses have warned there could be more intensive industrial action if such a recommendation is supported by nurses’ delegates at a meeting on February 12.
