Radiata pine symposium

Wellington reporter The radiata pine task force will present its findings at a symposium in Rotorua this month which will be attended by Forest Service staff and representatives of forestry companies and organisations. The task force was set up in 1979 to bring together all aspects of growing radiata pine, and how these affect forest use. After the symposium the task force will tour forestry areas throughout the country demonstrating the computer-

based model simulating the growth, harvest, and use of forest stands managed under almost any tending regime. The process takes only a few minutes.
