FRANKLIN GREYTOWN (Race 2), gr g. 5 yrs. by Tazrula—Golden Virginia: trained at Takanini by I. and N. Tucker. Added to consistent record with another fine race for third last start. Well overdue for a win here. WAIMATE EAGLESS (Race 10), b m. 4 yrs. by Sovereign Eagle-Fino Marie: trained al Gore by R. J. Cochrane. Has won two and has not been worse than third in her five starts this season. Convincing winner in smart time the last time she was tried over this distance at Wyndham on New Year's Day. WELLINGTON POWLEY (Race 8), b m. 4 yrs. by Noble Bijou—Mellay Vite, trained at Wingatui by H. A. Anderton. Has spendid record up to 1600 m on South Island courses, and has freshened nicely since her last-start win in Smelter Stakes at Invercargill.
