New prison block

PA Auckland Relief has finally arrived for the archaic and often grossly over-crowded Mount Eden prison. The first six prisoners will be transferred to the new Paremoremo medium security institution.

The specially-selected prisoners, mainly nearing the end of their sentences, will be used to check the systems in the new* prison before numbers there are gradually built up to its capacity of about 144 early next year.
