Mother, daughter die in crash
PA Nelson A woman ahd her daughter, aged two, died last night when their car struck with another vehicle at Korere, about 70 kilometres south of Nelson. Mrs Aroha Neale, aged 28, and her daughter, Leigh, of Rangiora. were passengers in a car driven by Mrs Neale's husband, Gavin Victor Neale, aged 28. The car hit a vehicle being repaired at the side of the road.
The Nelson police would like to hear from the driver of a large vehicle, possibly a stock truck, which was in the area and travelling south about the time of the accident. In Auckland, a motor-cy-clist was killed when his machine struck a power pole in New North Road, Mt Albert, just before midnight on Thursday. He was Richard James Hunwick, aged 30, a moulder, of Western Springs Road. Mt Albert.
