PA Wellington The recoverable reserves of Petrocorp’s McKee oilfield in Taranaki is about 20 million barrels, according to a statement released yesterday by Petrocorp.

This estimate was received recently from Petrocorp (exploration) reservoir engineering consultants, the Mexican Petro-

leum. Institute, and is in' line with , Petrocorp’s initial estimates for the size of the field. The field's third well — McKee 3 had. by yesterday morning, reached a depth of

2335 metres. The well will continue drilling to a planned 2400 metres, then the lower section will be redrilled from about the 1000 metres mark to a point 400 metres west of McKee 2 to evaluate the oilbearing rocks in the area.
