New HQ for merged companies
PA Wellington The New Zealand South British Group, Ltd, has announced plans to build a 13storey office block in central Wellington as headquarters for all of its Wellington divisions. The recent merger of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Ltd, and the South British Insurance Company, Ltd, left the group with two office buildings in Wellington. These buildings are not suitable for the combined business of the group, according to the company. The new 45m-high building, with a landscaped plaza, will be funded by the sale of other properties. Construction will start immediately and the projected completion date is in December, 1983.
