Queen leaves Perth
NZPA Perth The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh left Perth yesterday for an official visit to Sri Lanka.
The Queen and Prince Philip stopped al Government House in Perth overnight while en route from Auckland to Colombo.
After an eight-hour flight on Tuesday, the Queen will be in the air for 10 hours on board a Royal Australian Air force Boeing 707 jet. She was presented with the traditional posies of flowers from West Australian children as she was bidden farewell at Perth Airport. The Royal couple had visited New Zealand after opening the Commonwealth heads of government meeting in Melbourne and visiting four Australian states.
