Canty players 'out’
A clash of dates has ruled five Canterbury players out of contention for the southern zone rugby team to contest the Prince of Wales Cup match at Pukekohe on August 19. On that day, Canterbury will meet Otago in the first division championship match in Dunedin. Bill Bush, Peter McLaren. Dale Atkins, Victor Simpson and Mardy Vincent were not considered for the annual Cup fixture. In addition, two Otago players, Shane Gibbons and Kevin Hill, were also not considered.
