Restoration project
Kerikeri's Kemp House, which was damaged by a flash flood in March, will be restored downstairs in the style of its early mission period rather than the Victorian era. Much of the interior of the 160-year-old house was extensively damaged in the flood. The irreplaceable Victorian wallpapers were ruined. The Historic Places Trust, which administers the property. will restore the front garden and ground floor of the house using early pictures of the property as a guide. The upstairs rooms will retain their Victorian decor and furnishines
