Crushing 14-try victory
PA Whangarei The All Black trialists. Eddie Dunn and Fred Woodman, starred when North Auckland opened its 1981 representative rubgy programme with a crushing 68-3 victory over Thames-Valley in Whangarei yesterday. North Auckland piled on 14 tries to Thames Valley’s none. Woodman scored five,
the full-back, David Haynes got three, and the hooker and captain, Peter Sloane, two. The other try scorers were Steve Griffin, Neil Ruddell. Glen Mudgway, and Chippie Semenoff. Haynes kicked five conversions and Mike Gunson one. Thames Valley points came from a dropped goal from Greg Stewart.
