Kart lap record set

Graham Harrison (Auckland) trimmed 0.5 s off the lap record to highlight the New Zealand road kart championships at Ruapuna on Saturday. Harrison's average speed for the lap was 82 miles an hour, and his lap time was 43.95. Harrison went on to win the classic race of the day, the 250c.c. superkart Grand Prix. There was close racing in the lOOc.c. stock events. Places swapped regularly and in one of the three heats there was a dead heat.
