Trotters against time

PA Auckland Two of the best young trotters in the country. Mister Square and Jenner, will go against time in attempts to break national mile records at Alexandra Park this evening. The Kumeu colt, Mister Square, at; 5.15 p.m., will be trying to beat the two-year-old mark of 2min 8.45, set by Westland King in 1956. Mister Square has dominated the series of non-totalisator races for two-year-old trotters in the north this season, winning, all five. Jenner’s target is to better Halberg’s. 2min 8s recorded .against time in The race record is 2min 3.6 s by Rannaeh Boy in 1971. Jenner and Mister Square will be assisted by galloping premiers in their attempts, which will take place only if track and weather conditions are suitable.
