Rare coins for auction
An auction of rare coins in Christchurch this - week is expected to attract buyers from throughput New Zealand and Australia. The pergonal collection ol 452 coins will be offered for sale by R. G. Bell and Company tomorrow. Included in the catalogue are coins dating back to 1824.
The most sought-after coin is expected to be an Australian token penny, which is believed to be very rare. “We expect a bid exceed- V ing $5OO for this coin,” said , Mr R. G. Bell, who is or- a ganising the auction. f “An auction of this kind is 7 a rare event, and we expect | up to 50 buyers to be “i present” he said.
