Hit-run crash hurts two
Two young motor-cylists were injured in a hit-and-run incident in Christchurch last evening. The male motor-cycle rider, aged 19, suffered moderate injuries to the right leg. His female pillion passenger, aged 18, suffered abrasions. The motor-cycle and a car collided at the corner of Moorhouse Avenue and Barbadoes Street about 10.20 p.m. The Ministry of Transport appealed for any information about a white 1965 APS Valiant with damage to the left side and possibly to the front. The car left the scene of the accident, travelling at speed along Moorhouse Avenue, and was thought to have turned north into Fitzgerald Avenue. The driver was thought to be a male, with “Afro-style” hair.
