Women’s Hospital
Sir,—After all the rigmarole of Department of Health “interpretation” of the allocation of open andclosed beds at the Women's Hospital there is just one point which requires clarification. Mr Grigg said (“The Press” March 27): “The Minister’s recommendation that private practitioners be given greater autonomy in allocating beds among themselves is exactly what the board is doing.” Does he really mean this? Because this is exactly what the Minister recommended and what we had been led to expect. Let us hope the recent committee set up by the board can achieve more harmony.— Yours, etc., HELEN J. CHAMBERS. March 27, 1981.
