Selwyn candidate

Sir, — “Holier than thou,” are the overtones in most of the correspondence on the selection of Ruth Richardson as National Party candidate for Seiwyn. Obviously this small group of stirrers are not true National Party supporters; otherwise they . would act like Derek Quigley when things did not go .the 'way he would have liked. Have these persistent knockers ever said anything themselves which can be misconstrued by anyone desiring to do so? If they do not like the selection method, it can be. changed democratically. Regardless of which party, genuine members or supporters'will back their candidate, as surely party and policy is what a vote is all about. It will-be interesting to see when all this petty nonsense ceases and Ruth is given the support which.a National candidate is entitled to expect. — Yours, etc., A. N: RUSSELL? February 26, 1981.
