Social Credit policy

Sir, — Social Credit policies for people obviously pay dividends in British Columbia and Alberta. We are delighted M. T. Moore (September 19) has drawn attention to the record 36-year reign of Social Credit in Alberta, still continuing with new Socred lifeblood with the same policies under the name of “Progressive Conservatives.” The Bank of Canada, rates Alberta second for world living standards. My reference to the record of British Columbian Social Credit Government rule, refers to current ruling governments. Nevertheless on past records for reign, Alberta takes the prize as one of the State governments’ of Canada, being one of 36 sovereign independent governments which constitute the Commonwealth. With New Zealand twenty-fourth on O.E.C.D. rating for world living standards, constantly on decline, it is obvious neither Labour nor National can match either of these long-ruling governments. Social Credit, in New Zealand with similar policies for people has every likelihood of following suit. — Yours, etc > LOUISE MOORE. September 22, 1980.
